After years of playing every style, from funk to blues to hardcore, Paul Alves finally settles in with I/O, and lends his versatility to our setlist. Paul’s played with countless bands in his career, most recently Generation .Z., Sack Of Hammers, and The Thrill. He has long been nicknamed The "Monk Of Funk" for his groove-oriented playing style and habit of wearing predominantly black clothing.

Paul loves dogs, horror movies (the more obscure, the better), and is working on his golf stroke. He has a couple of vintage bass guitars that collectors have threatened his life for. He lives on a constant diet of Playstation and Sega video games, ranging from innocent auto racing titles to completely repulsive gore-fests. When Halloween rolls around each year, it tends to put a sparkle in his eye.

Paul lives in a house with three sets of furniture (ask him about it). And just because he’s got a swimming pool, don’t try to be his friend in the summertime.
